Why a Rebrand?
If you've been following along for a while, you've probably noticed me hinting at some changes behind the scenes.
For the past few months, I've been working on a new website and a refreshed brand for Studio Nicole. It's something I've been thinking about for a long time—not because I wanted to become a different business, but because I wanted my brand to better reflect the work I'm actually doing today.
A few months ago, if you had asked me what my business needed most, I probably would have said more equipment. But after receiving funding from Brandon Downtown Development, I found myself investing in something I hadn't seriously considered before: brand strategy.
At first, I wasn't sure. I love great branding, thoughtful design, and beautiful websites, but I kept wondering if I was ready. Did I even know what I wanted this business to become?
As I worked through the process with Nowadays Studio, I realized that was exactly the point. The process wasn't about creating a new version of Studio Nicole—it was about gaining clarity on the one I had already built.
When I first started, I was figuring things out as I went. I left teaching, went back to college, and knew I loved creating, storytelling, and connecting with people, but I didn't fully know what shape that would take.
Now, after working with businesses, organizations, entrepreneurs, events, and communities across Manitoba—and spending time digging deeper into what I want Studio Nicole to offer—I have a much clearer understanding of what this business is really about.
At its core, it's about stories.
The stories behind businesses. The stories behind people. The moments that might seem small at first but end up meaning the most.
I've always been drawn to finding meaning in everyday moments. Maybe that started growing up on a farm in southwest Manitoba, where I had plenty of space to daydream. Maybe it came from traveling and living in Taiwan as an exchange student. Maybe it was strengthened through teaching, where I spent six years listening to people, learning how they think, and helping them communicate their ideas.
Whatever the reason, that curiosity about people has always followed me.
Today, Studio Nicole has grown into a video and photography studio focused on creating media that feels thoughtful, natural, and aligned with the people behind it. Whether it's a campaign, an event, a podcast, or ongoing content creation, my goal is always the same: to help people tell their story in a way that feels honest.
The new website and rebrand aren't about changing that vision. They're about bringing it into focus.
It's a chance to better communicate who I am, what I do, and where Studio Nicole is headed next.
There's still more to share, and I'll be taking you behind the scenes throughout the process. But for now, this is the beginning of a new chapter—one that feels more aligned, more intentional, and more like me.
I can't wait to show you what's coming.
